A look at the Shaw situation this summer. The possibility of re-signing him, trading him, or losing him to an offer sheet. I think it is going to be hard for the Blackhawks to sign Shaw but really think losing him would be a bigger loss than many are ready to see. He is definitely a guy that helps this team win and the Blackhawks don't have anyone ready in Rockford that can do what Shaw does, at the level that Shaw does it.

An "update" on sorts with Bickell. Blackhawks might really have to trade TT to make something happen. Expansion will be in the back of their minds and they might rather lose a person like TT (or another player) now (while assisting in getting rid of Bickell) instead of leaving him (or another player) unprotected a year from now.

Blackhawks absolutely have to figure out a way to get Bickell off the cap this year, especially with the scary, scary rumors of the cap potentially dropping next year (which I don't think will happen).

Anisimov, Kruger, Teuvo, TVR, and potentially Pokka are the guys likely to be decided between on who to protect or not. Unless there is someone else they sign they may want to protect suddenly like Panik or a incoming trade/ufa piece this offseason. Maybe if Hartman has a strong year he'd be a questionable target for vegas.

Since anyone who's ELC began this season is exempt they don't have to worry about bunch of younger guys or even Panarin.
