Jay Cutler has yet to have a 4,000 season with the Chicago Bears.

Matt Ryan is about to do it 5 years in a row.
Peyton Manning did it 8 years in a row.
Drew Brees is about to do it 8 years in a row.

Why can't and couldn't Cutler do it? Even with Brandon Marshall,Bennett,Alshon Jeffery, and Matt Forte.

Issues every team has.

If we can go ten years without Jay Cutler having actually good year. It's time we get rid of Cutler and focus on everything else.

Jay Cutler may throw for a lot of yards but some of those yards may go the wrong way or they may not. But make no mistake: either Cutler is the QB of the Bears in 2016 or he isn't.

Which of the following is the best stat QB stat line so far in 2015 in your estimation?

13 GS / 338 comp / 513 att / 65% / 17 TD (3.3%) / 14 INT (2.7%) / 10 fumbles / 11.0 YPC / 86.8 rating /

9 GS / 193 comp / 322 att / 59.9% / 9 TD (2.8%) / 17 INT (5.3%) / 1 fumble / 11.3 YPC / 67.7 rating /

12 GS / 248 comp / 396 att / 62.% / 16 TD (4.0%) / 6 INT (1.8%) / 7 fumbles / 12.2 YPC / 92.2 rating /

Uh, Matt Stafford has thrown for 5000 yards and the lions haven't won a fucking thing. Dan Marino threw for over 61K yards and he never got a trophy. The amount of yards a qb throws for doesn't mean shit

I didn't say a word about him. All I brought up was that the idea that needing to throw for X amount of yards in a season is meaningless.

How many 4000 yard seasons does Russell Wilson have? None, but that hasn't stopped the Seahawks from having success. How many 4000 yard seasons does Peyton Manning have? A shitload, and he's only won one ring. So basing success on passing yards, in your example of trophies, is meaningless.

And what's Russell Wilson's QB rating for his career? 101 w/ a 3:1 TD/int ratio. Guess great QB play does get you big wins... and a trophy. Add his rushing yards to the total and you have your 4,000 yard season last year and likely this year.

All the teams that are seriously in contention this year have had good QB play. And guess what? It's like that every year! Yes, there might be a team or 2 once in a while that make a run with cutler-esque play, but there's a reason that's the exception and not the rule. There's a reason Cutler has won 1 playoff game in his career.

Cutlertards just dont give up... so fucking stupid

Cutler has all the potential in the world but with all the damage he's taken in his career it's hard to say.

"Great qb play" is about much more than a bunch of passing yards, which is what the op is talking about. The Broncos got great qb play from manning when they got curb stomped in the super bowl.

Jesus, what the fuck am I doing here? I knew I'd get sucked into this Special person shit. You guys can go fuck yourselves, I'm going elsewhere to get something real accomplished. Have fun with your respective circle jerks. I'm sure you'll finally get everything all hashed out while I'm away. Fuck...

The Bears have never had a qb pass for 4000 yds in a season. Ever.

If you add Cutler's passing and rushing yards he had 4,000 last season. This game is fun.

Cutler just throws short five yards passes and lets his running game do the rest. The Bears don't have faith in Cutler, Gase would never let Cutler run the game like he did with Manning.

You think Gase trusts the oline to block without penalty? And short passes is the Payton Manning offense. Cutler is not the problem with Gase.
