Just signed by the Hawks...came over in the Clendening deal with Vancouver. Looks like he can skate and he can bring it from the point...

Blackhawks will need some guys on cheap contracts to step up big time over the next year or two. Should be interesting to see how he adapts and how quickly he adapts to the NA style game. Blackhawks could certainly use him at some point.

I remember a lot of people complaining about Clendening having nothing to prove at the AHL level and that he should be in the NHL...well he didn't do much with the Oilers last year and he has bounced around quite a bit. Just goes to show you that the AHL and NHL are completely different beasts and just because a player is dominating the AHL, it doesn't mean he will do anything in the NHL. Starting to get afraid that Pokka may fall into that category and he is another guy the Blackhawks can use big time in the upcoming year or two.

He has an opt out clause for next season though so if he doesn't make the team out of camp he won't be in Rockford but will play the last year he has signed with his Swedish league club.

But the era were Rockford was a shitty all around team but had 3/4 good scorers is gone. There wasn't much to be had in the Morin/Pirri/Clendening point tallies other than each being limited scoped players. Clendening bounced to 5 teams within almost the span of a year.

Basically the same deal that Panarin had. Have to believe that the Blackhawks are going to give him every chance to succeed in camp and to make the team. Pretty good chance he is in the teams plans for next year.
