OFFICIAL: Found a sucker for Bickell

TT had to go with him. 2nd rnd pick for 2016 and a 3rd for 2017 from the Canes. Should help the keep Shaw effort.

It was probably going to hurt...whatever they needed to do to get rid of Bigfoot. I liked TT, he was only 21, how much better will he get.

Hopefully the Canes took all of the salary.

Teuvo wasn't stepping up into a top 6 role with us and they took Bigfoot off our hands.... would you have preferred to lose Seabrook in order to unload Bigfoot?

Your love for TT is blinding you DMelt

The bigger thing may be if this enables the Blackhawks to keep Shaw now. I said it before...Shaw is more important to this team and helps this team win more than TT did and I'm guessing likely will be more important for a few years to come. Sucks to lose TT just to move a contract (lets hope all of it) but that's the name of the game in the cap era.

If the Canes did in fact take all of Bickell's cap hit here...I'm actually very impressed with the return. Cap space and two pretty solid draft picks in the future. I have been floating the idea of Bickell/TT in a trade for a while (as I'm sure a lot have) but I always expect something like a 4th - 5th rounder back and that's all. Draft picks aren't my favorite in a trade but for the Blackhawks situation, I think it is needed.

Meaning you think he played like a top 6 player this past year or you think he was going to make that jump?

Don't get me wrong, I liked TT.... but to unload Bigfoot I can deal with it.

After last season he would really need to up his game to be a top 6, still a young player but seems iffy if he can take that step, plays soft.

Who cares, he's the definition of replaceable. Unloading bick was the priority, and I would have been willing to give up much more to dump him.

This was a win for the hawks, without question.

Oh I definitely agree, this trade was the best possible outcome ( in my eyes) for dumping Bigfoot.

It will be interesting to see how TT develops.

Fuck yeah, now the Bigfoots can cut down the forest together. Bigfoot gonna get Bigfoot to play like a beast again.

Still 50/50 on Teuvo. I like the kid, but he had alligator arms, and didn't really show a willingness to engage in board battles.
