Late Players in Stamkos sweepstakes: Hawks

So... I'm getting rumblings the Hawks are jockeying for a late pitch into the Stamkos raffle. Apparently...and this sounds crazy, but the plan is to clean house and run a skeleton roster from the farm, college signees, and trades.

Under the new paradigm....they want to flesh out

Shaw/Bickell/Kruger/Crawford/Seabs/Hammer(the latter two whose conditioning and longevity sprang into discussion recently and caused a restructure plan)
And they are serious. This is the plan.

They want to totally clean house and build around the new core, which and heres the crazy part....trading for Malkin, signing Stamkos....and then dropping the Ladd plan on a friendly first year only to leave him open to Las Vegas and make the salaries work into the future with Bread Man. What it means is 2016-17 Hawks

Ladd - Toews - Kane

Panarin - Anisimov - Malkin

Fleishman - Stamkos - Weise

Desjardins - Rasmussen - Schmaltz/Baun



This seems completely insane, but they think Pokka and Forsling are ready to slide into the defensive compeition for 5,6. With Svedberg, TVR, Gus all taking steps in off-season conditioning efforts. The cheap veteran additions as necessary. With those forwards they are willing to run some young defense and would have extreme trade ability were it not working.

No I heard we have secretly contact through channels to Stamkos team to make a discreet and overwhelming play last second.

Apparently the chance to swoop under the Red Wings was a small factor.

Jesus Christmas. We finally figured it out. Rask is Eklund. So much makes sense now.

So we'd be left with no goaltender and 1 defenseman .....but 60 mil for 6 forwards

What could possibly go wrong with that plan?
