  1. Chicago Cubs
  1. Chicago Bulls
  2. Golden State Warriors
  1. Chicago Bears
  1. Chicago Blackhawks
To suck while bringing in massive profits. Doesn't take a genius to figure that one out!

STEP 1.....TRADE DERRICK ROSE
STEP 2 thru N (................) where N=Lots of horrible moves, then a lucky break
STEP LAST....WORLD CHAMPIONS!!!!

In short...the plan is to put forth a subpar team because the United Center is going to sell out ANYWAY...

The plan is to out smart everyone else and win it all. The reality will be another step back. They need to blow this mess up. The trade of Rose was stupid if they can flip the assets they picked up for future first round picks. I would rather have the cap flexibility going forward.

People who hated Gasol are going to be pissed when they see Lopez. He is just as slow, but not nearly as good a shooter. People hated Gasol.

ahahahahaahahahaha lol!!!! thats not how this works!! Rose wasn't worth a first, we had to give them a pick!! Grant wasn't a first round pick. Lopez isn't worth his contract, you couldn't get a second or a sandwich...

firsts???where the fuck are your imaginary firsts coming from any bulls assets other than Butler.

Omar Asik was traded for a first round pick. Ronnie Brewer was traded for a first round pick.

They do have assets that could bring in a 1st rounder 5 years from now.

A bunch of Marginal players have been dealt for future first round picks. There are a lot of GMs that are willing to trade picks 5 years in the future away. Most GMs won't get those assets anyway so better to improve their chances now.

Hope that Durant signs a 1 year deal, then sign both he and Westbrook next off season to pair them with Jimmy and Lopez.

Jimmy Butler was just on "The Jump" on ESPN and Bulls management got some pretty heavy criticism and it seemed like JB agreed with all of it lol.

They are never going to trade the roster for draft picks like so many here want to do. They are never going to to put a team on the court at the UC that sucks for even one year. They aren't going to put a crappy ass team out there for the season ticket holders to suffer with, or to be an embarrassment to the suite holders or corporate sponsors and marketing partners who make the team worth nearly a billion dollars. Those are things that people who live with PER and fantasy sports and unrealistic internet GMs NEVER consider. They might slide to a .500 team and try to build up from there but that's it.

You mean like the second we got for Luol Deng....or are you counting firsts that are protected under severe unachievable stipulations that turn into seconds 5 years from now?

Asik is a good example, but was a good young active center on an improving trajectory who hadn't been paid yet. Grant is the only guy I see in that trade with potential to grow into a first.

The Loul Deng trade was knee jerk and horrible. Didn't like it at the time. Trading in season is different than trading in the off-season. With cap going up a lot of teams will have cap space so the Bulls can send guys off for nothing but picks. If they wait till the season starts, they will have to take money back.

They should have waited to trade rose. A team with space who can't find anyone to sign may take a flyer and the Bulls might have actually got a pick. I could see a few Bulls players bringing in a 1st rounder with the cap increase and their contracts. Some teams would rather have Gibson for 60% of the cost and give up a first if it means they can sign another better FA.

Also Ronnie Brewer for a first was worse than the Asik trade. There are a lot of examples of it. Just because you don't follow the NBA closely does not mean it does not happen.

No one's saying trade the roster. Just trade useful assets for better long-term investments.

And yes, people do consider the money, the season ticket holders, and so on. But in the end, continued mediocrity is not likely to hold interest forever. And again, no worthwhile free agent is going to want to play here if this team doesn't look like it's going anywhere. So yeah, money and the business side is a big part of it, but if your product is consistently meh, people will eventually get fed up. Not quite sure this is like Bears football or Cubs baseball, where people will always watch/turn out in droves no matter how bad the team sucks. No one's asking them use the Sam Hinkie method here, just be realistic. Whether or not they want to, the Bulls have to consider the long game as well as short-term benefits and bottom lines. That's going to eventually pay off more for the Bulls than just running an also-ran out there every season.

thats another issue i had with the trade. they could have gotten more if rose was playing solid come trade deadline... or waited on another team who was wanting to shred their roster and failed season to clear some cap going into 17... i guess the risk is that rose could get hurt and they wanted to minimize those risks... but it also minimized their return...

the knicks trade smells like the knicks called and the bulls did the deal without reaching out to other franchises to see what else they couldve gotten...at the very least im sure they could have used other teams create a lil more leverage...

I think the issue was not going into the new season with a toxic locker room. It had to be aired out to give Hoiberg a chance. He needed a PG who would try to work with him. The team needed a leader who wasn't constantly preserving themself from effort, games, and practice.

We got alot if you go by his 81/85 PG ranking. I doubt you could get Calderon for the 80th guy, or the 82nd.

Gar says Bulls want to get younger and more athletic...

Trades arguably our most athletic player (even with the injuries).

Drafts a 22 year old, SENIOR who isn't known for his athleticism.

Everything is going to plan.
