Its not often you hear about season-defining series's in July -- but this could be one. A sweep by Pittsburgh could devastate us. We're in a tailspin and losing to awful teams. This could not end very, very poorly if Arrieta has a bad start.

Yes, we were 47-40 going into the all star break last year. We also went into the all star break in a slump.

I dont think it'll be devastating if they get swept but im sure it will mess with the minds of the kids a bit and maybe make them press a little.
In a matter of weeks they would go from what 26 or 27 over to 16 over and from 15 games up on the Pirates to 5...
Yea that could mess up a young team mentally. .
Give the a Pirates a big lift to gain all that ground entering the 2nd half. .
Cubs could use taking at least 2 of 3 this weekend to enter 2nd half with momentum and all
