You see this is why Maddon is such a great manager. Remember in Spring Training the Cubs lost a lot of games. Then they came out and starting killing people right out of the gate. Maddon got them ready to peak just as camp broke. The guy knows what he's doing bro

Baez is a stud. Guy is going to win a gold glove and probably hit .800 OPS. That is crazy good for 23!!!

Well.....I will say the same to "peaking perfectly" as I responded to a Cards fan who said they were "limping into the postseason" due to Lackey on DL: We are 75% of the way through the season. Still approx 40 games for everyone.

He called that pickoff. Signaled it to Rizzo had the beginning of the AB. Good thought with a pitcher making his debut in base, liable to do something stupid. Beautiful throw.
