and maybe more than a stop gap. He is only 25.
Not sure you are going to find any better options than this.

Yes.

I mentioned this in a thread last week. I was creeping on some Pat's message boards and they said his backup has really been out playing him.

I would pick him up just for the depth. That way if Long is out for any amount of time, Stork can play center, Larsen guard and now your o-line is not a complete abomination.

And we just practiced with him all last week. Pace will sign him if he feels he is any good, fits the scheme and is not injured.

Can he zone block?

(sorry, I haven't had a shot at being a complete dickhead since I got back)

TBH suprised Pace didn't give up a late round pick for him while the Bears were down in Beantown ...

(I posted this in the other B. Stork thread so you know, I liked the premise of it)

His fighting last week makes me believe he was unwilling to be a Beliclone.
With his fighting, beard, and overall lack of grooming next to Long, he would be a meatballs wet dream replacement to Slauson.

Especially as he comes to work with a pencil behind his ear.

And hopefully a full first aid kit, with the way everyones knees, legs, feet and hands are falling off this preseason, he'll need it.

Wow is this a gift. Get him on the plane this am to Halas Hall he will be coached up and ready to roll on Saturday. There will be one maybe 2 more surprise quality lineman let go in next 10 days that Bears will pick up and all worries will be calmed. Stork being cut is an absolute gift for Bears!

He has to clear the teams in front of the Bears on waivers. Too bad the Bears couldn't have traded some TC fodder to avoid the chance of losing him.

I'd have to think that there will be multiple teams willing to take a chance on him so it'll come down to money and destination that will make him and his family happy.

He will never even become an UFA. He will cost a team $600,000 this season and $690,000 next if claimed. No way he makes it through waivers.

Exactly. People shouldn't get too excited yet. Plus it's not like Stork has been the poster child for good health. It's a big reason he's getting his walking papers.
