Hello everyone, saints fan here. The saints may have 1.2 in cap space but if they extend drew Brees they can free up to 9-10 million in cap space. While the saints would love to let drew play out the final year and start with 30 million under the cap next year, they will go chase a talented individual to do a extension now.. which they attempted with Josh Norman but lost the bidding war only to the redskins.
Saints are a couple guards away from being excellent on offense again. So I'm pretty sure that they have been badgering Chicago
Rumors thus far that we are hearing:
-Josh Sitton would rather not play green bay twice a year, he is entertaining Chicago on behest of his friend Long.
-Josh Sitton will be flying down on labor day to new Orleans, and has been in direct contact with Sean Payton.
-Josh's agent is driving up his price by visiting Chicago first to increase the desired amount. Which coincides with long extension to beef it up anymore.
Now the only con is Josh would like to play for a northern team, to be closer to his family. He is originally from Pensacola, but his family resides currently in the north.
Bears - Long, Northern team
Saints - Kuhn, don't have to play green bay twice a year.
In the end, money talks though. So it all depends on if your GM wants to shell out a two back to back major contracts for guards.
