Duncan Keith has been among the Chicago Blackhawks taking part in informal skates at Johnny’s IceHouse this week, according to a source.

Keith opted to not participate in the World Cup of Hockey for Team Canada in order to continue rehabbing his right knee. Keith had surgery to replace a meniscal tear in his right knee in October 2015.
“As Duncan continues offseason rehabilitation on the right knee injury that he sustained last season, we understand his decision not to participate in next month’s World Cup of Hockey,” Blackhawks head team physician Dr. Michael Terry said in a statement last month. “We believe it is in his best interests to focus on getting stronger and not risk further injury.”
Keith, 33, is set to begin his 12th NHL season. He had nine goals, 34 assists and averaged 25:14 of ice time last season.
Other players who have participated in the informal skates this week were Kyle Baun, Brian Campbell, Mac Carruth, Scott Darling, Ryan Hartman, Vinnie Hinostroza, Brandon Mashinter, Mark McNeill, Tyler Motte, Trevor van Riemsdyk and Brent Seabrook, among others. The Blackhawks open training camp in Chicago on Friday, Sept. 23.

Anything that saves some wear-and-tear on a guy who's played more hockey than just about anyone this decade sounds like a damn good idea.

Not getting any younger, either.

True dat.

Damn...I remember when he was drafted, and then I met him at a sparsely attended BH charity event at Dave and Busters. Yes Dave and Busters. We got to play video games with the players after a mostaccioli dinner. Ahh the good ol' days.
Now the guys 33?!?!?!?
