9/23 Arrieta vs. Leake, 9/24 Hammel vs. Reyes, 9/25 Lester vs. Martinez

I understand that it's nearly all gravy at this point but it's the Cardinals and I'd like to knock these guys out of the WC hunt. Someobody told me yesterday that I shouldn't care and yet I do.

Im torn a bit with this series

I want to sweep the Cardinals
But
Id rather have Cardinals and Mets play in WC
and keep Giants out , who I think has better pitching and better overall team of the 3

Yeah, I want to face SF the least out of the three. The Mets would be a dream scenario.

We're better than all three by a pretty wide margin although I am a bit wary of SF being all puffy chested if they survive the worst second half collapse in history to make the playoffs. Plus you're right, they do have the best pitching of the three and for those that have been laughing off Samardzija he's been very good since August 1 with a sub 3 ERA and opponents hitting about .220 against. In fact in that span he's been better than both Bumgarner and Cueto although both those guys have been better lately. Ideally I'd to like to face the Mets but you play who you play.

Cards can't catch a break. All they do is hit HR's and they get here and the wind's blowing in. LOL, I love it.

Arrieta looks sharp today. 32 strikes on 44 pitches through 3.

Arrieta has heard rumors that there might be a decision between he and Lackey and #3 and he's not having any of that shit. Damn he looks good today.

I'm been saying this for weeks...I'd welcome the Cards in the playoffs. Their pitching and defense is suspect and as you can see, they don't do much with the bats when they don't hit home runs.

Yeah, and if we sweep them they don't make it. I'm beginning to question my hope for that scenario.

7 innings
5 singles
10 K
1 walk
No runner got to third base

And he's the #3!

Cardinals last seven are at home to Cincy and Pittsburgh. Even with a sweep, they can finish strong enough to be tied or ahead at the end.

Home? I think they'd rather be on the road. There's only two teams in the National League with a worse home record.
