Getting outplayed by his back-up is nothing new to the Franchise QB. We all remember 2012 when McCown completely embarrassed him.

Then in 2014, he made headlines by being the first (and only?) franchise QB to be benched for Jimmy "the Emu" Clausen. Clausen then came in and started against the Lions and clearly played WAAAAY better against them than "franchise" had just a few games earlier.

In the 2010 season, "franchise" quit on the team in a game that many thought of as more important to win than the SB. His back-up, Caleb Hanie came in and made the quitter look silly. He clamined he had a knee boo boo. Later that night, he was seen out to dinner with his babies momma. No limp. No crutches. No knee wrap. No cast. No torn lig. The Bears would claim he had a "grade 2 MCL". LO fucking L.

A few weeks ago, again on national TV, he embarrassed himself once again. After clearly throwing an ill-advised pass, "franchise" quit, claiming he had a boo boo on his thumb and "that's why I made a bad pass". Video evidence clearly shows he just miss-read the coverage - it was a good throw, just to the wrong guy. An MRI later revealed there was nothing wrong with the thumb. However, much like 2010, the Bears brass will tell the world he has an injury.... It's more about them covering up for keeping/paying him than anything else.

Needless to say," Frachise's" back-up once again outplayed our starter. And in doing so, he did something in his very first game as a starter (with the Bears) that "franchise" has NEVER done in his entire career with the Bears.

"Franchise" has never thrown for > 300 yards, with > 40 attempts and NOT throw an INT. Hoyer just did.

As a matter of fact, our fearless starter has only thrown for over 300 yards three times in his entire career with the Bears and not thrown a INT - regardless of attempts.

Think about that... His next start will be his 100th as a Bear.... And only 3 of his last 99 games has he thrown for 300 yards and not thrown an int.

99 games as a Bear. 106 ints...

It's only a matter of time before Hoyer, Fox, Frodo, and Pace are gone and the cockroach continues to LOL.

I was curious how often 300yds/40att/0int happened, so here you go. 2006-present.

of note - Big Game Josh has two games meeting the criteria; Sex Cannon, Ortong and Brian Griese each have one.

Doesn't that sort of tell you stats lie? Thanks though - I doubt anyone is pining for Griese, who was very Hoyeresque. I could live with McCown, but he would get killed with this line. Is Vince Evans still around? I think the qb problem is pretty much as difficult as you could make it in Chicago. Snakebit for sure.

well even if our problems aren't solved, we'll at least have a rookie vs. a 8yr vet going through growing pains.

"PACE IS SERIOUS ABOUT GETTING HIS QB"

Meanwhile, in 2 drafts he's let every single one go.

I've gone back to 2009, and yes, in every draft, a bonefide QB has been selected in that draft

And yes, with a #7 overall pick and Cutler in the hopper, we could have had ANY QB in the last 2 drafts.

Pace was like "FUCK IT, Im taking an receiver who can only run one route with a broken leg to "rebuild" my team around."
