Yet he gave up at least one sack and a few pressures against the Bengals.

Tunsil was okay. Not great, but pretty solid.

I will never forget or forgive this stupid draft day decision. I was their live, the whole place was electric because everyone thought Tunsil was the pick. Even the guy who does redzone was hyping Bears fans up for Tunsil. Then we pick the 24 year old toothpick project and right then I knew it is the same old Bears. Football is not rocket science, stop trying to outsmart everyone, make the obvious choices, and you will compete.

Tunsil plays guard so they won't matchup with each other and who cares if they did.

Floyd has been bad.

I know that he is raw, but you should still expect more from a top 10 pick.

I would also expect an SEC guy his age to have already put on his man weight. I don't know of another successful pass rusher that was that skinny coming out of college. Mark Anderson and Jevon Kearse were both bigger.

I was so confused when they called out Floyd as the pick after the trade up. I was sure it was going to be Tunsil. We probably didn't even need to trade up to get Floyd. The whole thing was weird.

The only thing worse than Floyd's play has been how they have used him.

If you want to develop him as a pass rusher, stop dropping him into coverage.

He's a linebacker, Windy - particularly in a 34. That's not to say he can't blitz or put his hand down. I believe his strengths involve covering the TE or back. This is a good topic, but I don't see him as someone who just lines up on third down and pins his ears back. I could definitely be wrong and he's clearly raw, which Pace seems to have a penchant for in the first. The constant narrative about him as a pass rusher is a bit misguided imo. They drafted him to be a three down linebacker, and in a 34 that means a lot of responsibilities.

I believe he has the physical talent to drop in zone, or even man up. This is his strength, but I'm not saying he can't rush.

I actually thought his ability to cover was one of his strengths in college...

3 passed defended
Vs
4.5 sacks

It was close as to what he was mediocre at in colllege as a 24 yr old jr

I don't necessarily agree. His pass rush hasn't been there, but his coverage skills have been solid. A TE hasn't drilled the Bears yet. Witten is a fossil, but still had his worst game so far against us.

The Giants were looking at him heavily because they have/had a pretty weak group.

If it was Myles Jack that the Bears drafted and he was being used coverage it wouldn't be a problem in your mind. But since it's Floyd and you had a different expectations you're bitching about. Yes I get it they're 0-3 but try and keep perspective.

I disagree. He has been active against the run and has recorded 13 tackles in 3 games which is pretty damn good for a 34 OLB. He has been solid in coverage and has brought pressure. The problem is when he brings pressure there hasn't been anything up the middle so QBs are able to step up in the pocket and avoid the pressure. Von Miller and Aldon Smith were the last rookie pass rushers to hit double digit sacks and really show dominance from year 1 so I'm not exactly expecting a huge number of sacks this year.

For 3 games into his career Floyd looks good to me. He will only get better. As for the OP, Tunsil will likely have delayed reactions based on his love for smoking out of a gas mask for I like Floyd's odds against him.
