Niko never really has spurts where he looks like an all-star. He'll have brief periods where he shoots the ball well but does nothing else close to an all-star level. His overall game and intangibles are poor.

does that bare out statistically and in plus minus?

it seems to me he rebounds well and is a subtle bothersome defender with length and some strength.

Who does Niko "subtly" bother on defense? Does this bare out statistically? And if by strength, you mean constantly gets bullied and pushed out of the way, sure, he's a regular iron man.

Sure, he's a decent rebounder. Decent. Other than the occasional game where he camps behind the 3 pt line and gets hot, he does nothing close to an all-star level. At all.

neither did Butler at his age.

So far my only thoughts this pre season are that Rondo and Wade have played well and that the defense is trash.

I didn't know a thing about Paul Zipser, but he's impressed me a little bit. He's still very raw but there's definitely some potential there. I'm also starting to realize that Doug McDermott sucks.

lol...Zipser can play. He is Mirotic 2.0 out there.

Rondo looks good. Wade was in good form.

The stand out to me was Lopez...just having an actual center on the court who dominates his 3 square feet and nobody can stop that 3 feet, go in it, or push it around.

I'm laughing and realizing at the same time how worthless of a center Noah has been without Boozer. Noah needs that strong body to box out, push, rebound and yell. But now we have an enormous man again and the lane looks secure.

Felicio wants to be somebody this year.

We have some trade packages. Zipser could make Mirotic very expendable. Lopez could go if Cousins was returned.

Lopez/Mirotic/1st rounder should be enough given he is headed to FA. They don't need a center, so third team necessary.

Now this looks like preseason. Playing half ass, trying to execute tricky plays, and not trying to hurt yourself.

Spoke too soon, but at least it's not as bad as the last 4 games.

Cubs and Bears tonight, but still flipping back to the game to catch MCW. I keep missing his playtime.

I just want to see which sets Hoi is organizing. I know he can't shoot, but if he can defend and facilitate with the 2nd unit, he'll actually work out as a role player. Our luck, Hoi's lineup will be resting Wade for MCW or some really stupid shit.

I caught a handful of MCW posessions. He played some with Wade and some with the 2nd unit. Not sure what other lineups he was included in as I only checked the game a few times. He had some good looking passes and looked competent on defense. He missed the only jumper I saw him take, which was a 20 footer off a dribble size up move with the shot clock winding down. Small sample size though so idk if I can say anything one way or the other.

Dinwiddie got waved again. I thought he out played Isiah Cannon but I guess they thought differently.
