This game is scary. Especially since we managed only 2 hits last time.

And if we lose, can we really trust Arrieta for a do or die game 7 at this point?

Just hoping Hendricks can match Kershaw for as long as possible, if need be, then we can maybe do some work against their blowpen.

Fun fact, the dodgers managed 3 hits in that game vs Hendricks.

Forgotten by many, due to Fox' slurpfest, is that Kershaw is poor hitorically in the postseason, including one start in 2016.

He obviously was terrific in Game 2, but against Nats he allowed 3 runs in 5 IP in one start.

That happens tonight, and he's making tee times tomorrow.

Key to tonight: Contact! Kershaw talked about the Nats last series and said they were tough cause they kept fouling off 2 strike pitches. He said it seemed like they just fouled off every 2 strike pitch. That gets to Kershaw. Letting him pump two strikes on you and then swinging at the curve isnt going to work. Kershaw is not going to walk a lot of guys and he is going to throw a ton of strike. Attack him. Sitting back and seeing pitches is a death wish against him. He destroyed us because of that approach last time. Sit on his fastball and hope you make hard contact.

Kershaw leads the league in throwing fast ball strikes on the first pitch. 67% so why arent we swinging first pitch and not letting him drop a 1-2 curveball on us?

This was my issue with their AB's. It's fine the first time through the order or at least the first inning, but once you see a pitcher pounding the zone early to get ahead, it's time to be more aggressive.

this is why you cubs fans come off so negative.

You have last years Cy Young, in the running parts of this year, K's for days, with some recent control issues. But very good at home.

You are ringing your arms and freaking out...when

you get a freebie against Kershaw.

You get a chance to put the Cubs in the world series behind the arm of arrieta and a stocked pen. Its a great chance!! don't worry about what might go wrong, just root this through!!

If it fails it fails, but its a good chance. Yes....Arrieta. Trust it? wtf are you even talking about. You get to roll those dice you lucky sob's
