We're six games into the 2016-17 NHL season. The Hawks have given up 12 power play goals this year. That's an insane number. Maybe a perfect night for the PK is a good place to start the improvement?

LET'S GO HAWKS!!

Some line combos, per @MarkLazerus:

Motte-Toews-Panik
Panarin-Anisimov-Kane
Hartman-Schmaltz-Hossa
Rasmussen-Kruger-Tootoo

Also looks like Rozsival is in tonight and Kempny might be the odd man out to make room for him. Rozi hasn't played yet this year.

Brian Elliot appears to be getting the nod in goal for Calgary.

Also Calgary's PP is 1-for-25 this year. Sounds like a good time to get right.

I hope so, the PK's gotta have zero confidence right now.

Calgary's PP and the 'hawks PK is like the resistible force vs. the movable object.

Aside from staying out of the box, the key is going to be Toews, Kruger, Hossa, Keith, and Hjammer to start earning their paychecks on the PK. They have been the problem--not the netminders (either of them), not the rookies, them. They have to start playing in position, they have to pressure the point shots, stop the opposition from screening, stop screening their own netminder, and grow a pair (again) and be willing to block some shots.

Also, here's hoping Toews' shootout goal sparkplugged him. This season neither being gassed nor his linemates are a valid excuse--especially since Motte and Panik have been denting the twine.

Steeger is calling shots at Toews for being a fake cubs fans.

And amusingly Brouwer set up Versteeg for a one timer goal their last game. And with Frolik on the team Calgary has a winner of each hawks cup.

I haven't seen a ton of the Hawks this year unfortunately (that'll change tonight, finally) but the Hawks have actually looked pretty good at 5-on-5, which bodes well for the rest of the season, I'd think. There's no way the PK is going to stay that bad.

First time I've had a chance to get into a Hawk game other than bits and pieces of games....wtf. A very disinterested group out there tonight...other than Crawford who is keeping things within reach.
