What games did you guys love to play back in the day? I was (still am) a huge Zelda fan. I remember beating Ocarina of Time for the first time as a kid and it was glorious haha.

Was also a huge fan of the Dynasty Warrior games.

How bout you guys?

My favorite changes like the wind with classic games. Too many good ones. With the whole NES classic edition hype, I've been playing some real NES and Famicom of late. TMNT, Zelda 2, Castlevania 3. The emulators(hyperkin/apps/GamerTek), virtual console(Wii/WiiU/NESCE), and FPGA systems(AVS) that are on the market still have too much lag for quick twitch games. Kind of sad, I would love to shrink my collection to just a few tiny devices, but we still aren't there yet. It is even worse with Colecovision and n64.

Contra is great. So is Jackal. I used to have a top 5 speedrun ranking in Jackal on Twin Galaxies for the longest time. This new generation of speedrunners have totally exploited most NES games to oblivion though.

lol I saw a Super Mario 64 speed run that was like under 10 mins I think. He just glitched through a bunch of walls and was at the final bowser in no time.

Pokemon on GB color, mortal kombat/smash bros/mario kart on n64, Mario on super nintendo.

Sonic the hedgehog sucks/sucked. No wonder your childhood was a disappointment, scoot.

Ahh of course Pokemon, how could I forget that game. Still sometimes play it on my phone via an emulator.

These titles may not be exclusive to the system I list them with, they just happen to be the systems I played the game on.

IBM mainframe (1980) = D&D, an original version written by a programmer that worked with me.
Atari 2600 = Adventure
Intellivison = D&D, Baseball, Football
Commodore 64 = The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, Zork
Apple IIC = F-15 Strike Eagle, Wizardry: Proving Grounds of the Mad Overlord, Castle Wolfenstein
NES = Mario, Link, Punch-Out. Never got into Tecmo.
Super Nintendo = The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past
Nintendo 64 = GoldenEye 007, a tank game I can't remember the name

Then Xbox and PS, were not calling those classics yet are we?

Early PC games were, Leisure Suit Larry, Zork, Wolfenstein 3D, Civ games, my first MMO Red Baron, Perfect General.

I was about to post this a week ago, got banned, saved it to Word, forgot about it until now, and pasted.

Played through Zelda: A Link to the Past on my laptop last year. A really great update to the original.

I still need to play Four Swords. It's in the same style as the original Zelda and Link to the past. I think I skipped it, because when it came out, I was confused by the way Nintendo released it and advertised it. Was it multiplayer, did you need GBAs, etc. I know now how it works, but wow, that was one of those really weird Nintendo advertising clusterfucks (which I'm glad they do overall, just sometimes it's pure head scratching to everyone outside of Miyamoto's head).

Punch Out, Contra, Battletoads, Mario 3, Street Fighter 2, A Link to the Past (prob my favorite, tend to play it once a year), Ocarina of Time, Goldeneye, Doom, I mean, the list can go on.

Hmm for nes i think Hockey is better. It's chaotic and hilarious.

Then on the 16 bit Era the ever loved nhl94 and mutant league hockey dominate.

Thinks like Wayne Gretzkys hockey or NHL hits later on had the high aggression style but I think never were as great.

Why panic when you can panik? via da Tapatalk
