I hope it works and he gets mvp votes, its the only way he will opt out after next season, otherwise we are stuck with him. Eloy Jiminez should be ready by then.

If he slashes .274/.350/.420 with 15 HR, which he is more than capable of, he's at least a 5 WAR player. If he's that guy I don't want him to opt out.

History on him has been to be that kind of player. Last year was a blip. He has had blips in the past also. All said and done his D has not been affected regardless.

All said and done. If he is able to hit his career slash his value jumps.

I don't see a huge issue going on until Eloy is ML ready. I give him 2-3 year to get there depending if they fast track him or not. When he is ready they will have to force a move.
