Pete Rose and Shoeless Joe Jackson both deserve to get in.

It's a travesty in my opinion that they aren't.

Ty Cobb was a deplorable human being. His "crimes" were much worse and much more serious IMO than what Rose did and what Jackson was alleged to have done.

In regards to this years class:

-Bagwell getting in was deserved. Sort of surprised it took seven years but if it weren't for the steroid whispers I imagine he's a guy that gets in on the 3rd or 4th ballot rather than the 7th.

-Rodriguez getting in on the first ballot was pretty surprising to me. Especially compared to a guy like Piazza who had to wait four years. Then again, in Piazza's case most of his years he was getting beat out by CLEAR first ballot guys with zero steroid whispers. Still an odd dynamic though. I have no problem with Pudge going in but surprised he got such a "pass" in regards to the steroid cloud.

-Raines to me never had the feel of a HOF but every few years these SABR guys come up, get a push and in a few years they are in. Any guesses as to who the next one will?

Not to go of topic here, but you may find this interesting.....

Most of the horrible deeds of Ty Cobb are actually rumors started by a guy who didn't like him (Al Stump I believe), and it ended up becoming part of actual history.

It is a pretty fascinating tale that a man like Ty Cobb, who helped promote the Negro Leagues and was generally a great guy, got torn down when he was no longer alive to defend himself, and eventually the myths become reality. Luckily a historian did some real digging and found out the truths about him.
