Kirk Cousins - QB - Redskins
NFL Network's Daniel Jeremiah "would not be shocked at all" if the Redskins and 49ers agree to a trade involving Kirk Cousins at the Combine.
Jeremiah isn't a typical Rotoworld source on the NFL side, but with draft season upon us, he has an ear to the ground and talks with numerous personnel people. He believes there's a "better than 50 percent" chance Cousins isn't a 2017 Redskin, and a deal sending Cousins to San Francisco, possibly along with the Redskins' No. 17 overall pick, in exchange for the 49ers' No. 2 overall pick is in the cards. Further, Jeremiah reports the Redskins still aren't sold on Cousins long-term. Washington seems intent on bungling an offense that had become one of the best in the league. Cousins would be a massive get for the rebuilding Niners.

How about the #3 overall and a 4th rounder for Cousins and the 17th. Unless SF and Wash are looking at the same guy, this could work.

Gettin' serious FA "man-wood" for Dontari Poe.....it just makes far too much sense to do this. We'd have such a scary front....

We should also snag a stud safety and CB in FA........that allows us to concentrate on Drafting the BPA........(and let the QB sitch settle out....)

Poe will get overpaid. Not worth it.

Cutler to retire instead?
Although the Bears are trying to trade him, quarterback Jay Cutler is “one of several veterans who are still considering whether they want to play” in 2017, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL.com (video link).Jay Cutler (Vertical)

[RELATED: Top 3 Offseason Needs — Chicago Bears]

Cutler is working out and rehabbing as he nears full health, and is expected to be able to pass a physical by next month, as Rapoport reported earlier today. The 33-year-old probably wouldn’t be going through that process — at least publicly — unless he was willing to continue his career in 2017, and it’s possible that Cutler is simply frustrated by his recent injury luck, poor play, and the rumors surrounding his status in Chicago.

Of course, by even mentioning the possibility of retirement, Cutler could be attempting to control his own landing spot. If the Bears reach a trade agreement with a club Cutler doesn’t want to play for, he could use the threat of retirement in order to force the acquiring team to back out a potential deal. That’s entirely speculation, but Cutler probably prefers to choose his next destination rather than having it assigned by the Bears, and talk of him hanging up his cleats could help him accomplish that goal

Jeffery for $15-$16M per year? I'll believe it when I see it.

A.J. Bouye - DB - Texans
MMQB's Albert Breer was told impending free agent A.J. Bouye will be the "clear king" of the cornerback class.
The fourth corner on his own team this time last year, injuries gave Bouye the opportunity to show what he can do, and he did not disappoint. Now the 25-year-old is an ascending star heading to the open market with plenty of teams desperate for corner help. It will not be surprising if he betters the five-year, $62.5-million deal Janoris Jenkins landed last March.

Rick Wagner - T - Ravens
Spotrac projects impending free agent Rick Wagner to become the second-highest paid right tackle in the league.
Lane Johnson currently tops the list at $11.25 million per year, but he is being paid like a future left tackle. Bryan Bulaga is the highest paid true right tackle at $6.75 million and is closely followed by Mitchell Schwartz, who signed a five-year, $33-million deal including $20.7 million guaranteed with the Chiefs last offseason. Schwartz's deal should be the starting point for Wagner's negotiations.

Bouye is #1 on my FA wishlist.

2014 he had 3 picks in spot duty and another 2 in 15. Only 1 this year but 2 in the Playoffs and showed he can shut receivers down and still has some room for improvement.

So if this happens, would Redskins take a QB or D player?

This could play out to where Cleveland gets Garrett (trade for Garropolo), Skins get Allen (Sign Romo/backup McCoy), and then the Bears have a choice of any of the top 3 QB's (Kizer, Watson, or Trubisky).

Kirk Cousins - QB - Redskins
According to the Washington Post's Mark Maske, a trade sending Redskins franchise player Kirk Cousins to San Francisco "remains in play" despite Cousins' exclusive-rights tag.
While the exclusive tag prevents teams from approaching Cousins and his agents personally, teams can still approach the Redskins' front office about Cousins' trade availability. It would be surprising if the quarterback-desperate, Kyle Shanahan-coached 49ers did not do so. Washington's asking price should still be enormous, likely involving the Niners' No. 2 overall pick. San Francisco is presently armed with ten picks, including seven in the first five rounds.

Alshon Jeffery - WR - Bears
Speaking on Good Morning Football, NFL Network's Mike Garafolo said the Titans will "make a push to bring in some receiver help."
He added Tennessee will be "very active this offseason" and are "prepared to spend." The comments came up in a discussion about Alshon Jeffery, who is certain to land a monster deal as the best receiver available in free agency. If the Titans balk at Jeffery's asking price, they could turn to the draft to find a true No. 1 receiver. Clemson's Mike Williams, Western Michigan's Corey Davis, and Washington's John Ross are all first-round prospects.

His knee must not be doing well or he was just making too much money...or both.

Good for him. Smart move by the Chiefs retaining home grown talent.
