I actually have to admire his gall. A horrendously inconsistent turnover prone career underachiever who hasn't played a full season since 2009. Now says if I'm going to bother getting out of bed in the morning it better be for something perfect.

Now that he's not the Bears' problem anymore, I can kind of appreciate that from a distance.

Jay didn't say that Rappaport is just speculating.

So...

L.A. Chargers or Rams, New York Giants or Jets, Tennessee.

Only one of these fits is entirely right. Marriota and Carr will be out for a while. If Jay is going to showcase, neither have massive funds allocated to QB just yet and need to bridge to their young starter getting healthy again. Cutler would be perfect.

It may be hard to outbid shanahan on the open market for Cousins.

LOL from Walter Football:

2/22: The Jets are expected to have interest in Jay Cutler when he's cut. - Jason La Canfora, CBS
There probably won't be a trade, with Cutler not being cleared medically (shoulder) until March. We've learned, however, that the Jets were briefed on how to handle attitude and mood swings. -Walter
The only thing better than the Bears cutting Jay...is him signing with the Jets afterwards.

Really, really hope that happens.

If Cutler is anything, he's ballsy.

Hardly breaking news.

This is the same guy who stood on the podium in his rookie year and declared he had a better arm than Elway.

Ballsy? Meh.

Just arrogant.

He didnt look ballsy when Pernell McPhee rolled up in his grill last September. He looked scared haha.

LOL. Talk about delusions of grandeur. What exactly has Jay Cutler accomplished to think he deserves anything at this point in his career much less to be courted to join "the perfect situation"?!? Fucking hilarious.

The perfect situation might be him staying in Chicago, playing 8 games a year and collecting a nice paycheck. :troll:

8 then 6 then 4 then 2.... gotta make it look like your trying, but that the injury bug just keeps biting you harder the older you get.

All this talk about perfect change or retirement is nothing but media crap. Cutler never said this.

But one thing is certain: If Cutler does not agree to a trade it won't happen. That is why releasing him is a lot more realistic than a trade.

For Cutler the Texans or Denver should be the best options right now if he wants to be on a competitive team. Houston could be interested if Cutler signs a 1 year prove it deal. (in that case the Osweiler contract should not matter that much)

The other two teams are the Jets and Niners. For the Niners it could make sense if they draft a QB and sign Cutler for 2-3 years.

Pretty sure perfect would be surrounding him with guys like Matt Forte, Brandon Marshall, Martellus Bennett, Alshon Jeffery. If he had all that I'm sure he could go full on Aaron Rodgers..

Wait...

Crap...

Well, you could still consistently make the playoffs with him if you built elsewhere. A defense with Brian Urlacher, Lance Briggs, Julius Peppers, Charles Tillman, elite special teams units (with some sort of STs guru like Dave Toub in KC), and a strong running back like Matt Forte. He could probably manage the games effectively enough to consistently contend with guys like that. If that's not enough throw guys like Greg Olsen, Alshon Jeffrey, Brandon Marshall into the mix.

We can't get rid of Cutler soon enough. After this report, if true, Bears should cut his ass.

Well....he would make them better than Osweiller, that's for sure. And the Texans were in the playoffs already and were competitive against the Pats...without Watt. Cutty definitely needs a dominant defense to carry the team. Superbowl contender? Eh.....if Watt comes back and dominates and the defense does its thing, maybe. Even Rex got to a Superbowl....

Rex also had a solid offensive line, a couple above average WR's in Muhammad and Berrian, an above average TE in Clark, a top-10 RB that year in Thomas Jones, and a phenomenal defense and special teams. He had a great supporting cast around him.
