Don't underestimate the fact that Rex Ryan has never been able to build a respectable offensive staff. Anyone going from Ryan to a different HC will get an offensive boost, as did Fitzpatrick when Ryan left the Jets before 2015.

And Buffalo was near the bottom in time of possession even though they were a very good rushing team.

Buff went from a 37.89% 3rd down Percentage conversion rate (2015) to a 40.95% 3rd conversion rate in 2016

3rd Down Conversion Efficiency was 13th @41.0%

And a completely different stat than 3 and outs. I also suspect they had a lot of 3rd downs as opposed to converting on 1st and 2nd.

Same could be said of linemen, especially since the insheeption when there was no FA. Also 4 of the SB winning QBs since 2000 were not drafted by their teams. That doesn't include Eli which would make it 6.

It's also a way for the Patriots to say that we are not trading Garoppolo unless you blow us away with a trade offer. In other words, we want a top 10 pick out of this. Even then, they probably still do not make any trades. It is best for the Patriots to hold on to him and see what happens with Brady next year.
