Useless?? Players on one year contracts will play harder than players on 4/5 year contracts cause they're playing for a new contract. Not useless at all.

Maybe, and if they do they'll sign elsewhere the following year because Pace won't shell out the cash.

whopping condemnation of Langford and Carey. Should've been no need for another RB.

Cunningham comes in with 4.9YPC last yr, Lang 3.2, Carey 3.9, Howard 5.2. To boot Cunningham is a top Returner.

I think Carey was under utilized, but can't say he was special... except he was a good lead blocker on kick returns.

I don't see a need for 4 RBs. With Langford and Carey under contract, may be a late cut after preseason.

Great highlight video, it's nice to see a RB that doesn't go down when someone touches his ankle (J.Langford) and actually hits the defender to get the extra yards.

By golly, you're right. Bears are bound to win 1 or 2 more games than they did last season. Off season success!!

Wow, you still don't get that it's not about the now and more about the future of this team.

And free agency will be loaded with players looking for a place to play as it is every off season.

You still don't get that I've been hearing that crap for years as it is. Win now or find a GM/HC who can. You don't win by passing on the best players so you have more money to spend on bargain average players. You don't win by paying a lesser QB twice his worth and you certainly don't win by just constantly saying it's about the future.

Really good signing. Upgrades at KR and RB immediately. The Kadeem & Jeremy Show has been cancelled. One or both are not making this roster. Deonte Thompson might want to learn to catch......sooner than later or he joins that bus trip out of Chicago.

A really nice compliment to Jordan Howard. Good hands out of the backfield who....unlike Langford can "YAC."

Now...Pace drafts a rookie RB (late round) to complete the set.

You and the Warden need to get a room.

Probably not. We are still terrible but I can't be arsed to complain about decent depth signings when there are way more important things to worry about.

There is that word......"DEPTH" again. I hate that word when it is assigned to the Bears roster:(

I really don't see the negative with this signing. Cheap RB who can return kicks, give Howard some rest, and pick up passing duties. It's a depth signing, not sure why everyone is so up in arms about it. You're not going to be signing any big names this late in FA.

I don't really care about the Cunningham signing. I watched Cunningham and he did okay with the Rams. It is just frustration with me all around this off season. Not one signing made the Bears much better at any position. Not one of the guys signed is a difference maker. It is just so fucking boring and pathetic:(

That's what they said a couple of years ago. Then last year they said the same thing. Now it is the same bullshit. This team has not gotten any better over-all. Period. They had a shitload of free agent money and did not bring in any quality players, especially at quarterback. They need a quarterback with decent mobility and instead brought in Joffrey the Giraffe. I can see the defensive ends of the other team, circling their date with the Bears, on their calendar for opportunity to add to their incentive sack totals.

Do we constantly want to turnover the roster year after year? We should get good players for multiple years.

You could get a guy off of the street given him a budget of $80M bucks set your current roster in front of him and tell him to end up with 53 players by the start of the season. It couldn't be that hard. With just a bit of damned luck, you'd sign some decent players but miss on others. But finding 53 warm bodies should be a piece of cake. All these veteran players searching for jobs, you'd think that you'd want to focus on those who still can play at a high level and PAY THEM if they will be BETTER THAN the slugs that you currently have. Pace, I don't think did that. I think that he was foolish in not adding quality guys but rather getting marginal players and hoping they would work out to be better..

I gotta say that the Glennon move was a terrible decision. He should have kept Hoyer for less money and used the money to bring in a quality offensive tackle. INstead he pissed away almost $20M dollars and still doesn't have one good tackle let alone two.

Call it what you like, when the injuries hit last year we had scrubs playing multiple games. Now at least the mediocrity will continue!

This does not bode well for Carey unless the Bears plan to keep 4rbs and sacrifice a WR or TE spot.

Because you KNOW Pace will keep his boy Langford over Emery's guy Carey.

Which is stupid because Carey is a better runner than Langford.

Ok and please tell me how many years you think a total rebuild should take?? Lets remember that year one was tearing it down and going from one of the oldest teams in the league to one of the youngest so last year was the real first year of actually rebuilding but even if you wanna look at both years of actually building it still doesn't take two years to rebuild a team especially when you're starting with a team with hardly any talent which is what Emery left for Pace.

It still amazes me that with how much people on here act like they know about the game they can't even comprehend how a rebuild works. You might not like how long it takes but just cause you don't like it doesn't mean it doesn't take long to do it the right way.

Carey may stick because of his special teams play. He seems to have endeared himself to this staff. He's just can't seem to stay on the field. Bears could still are a back in the later rounds of the draft and neither of them could make it.

They all on record as preferring a long succession of 8-8 seasons by buying talent in free agency as opposed to building a foundation through the draft. Which does, unfortunately, take 3-4 years when coming off a team with zero young talent.
