Heyward's HR was incredibly impressive. Came on a 95mph FB at the very top of the zone and outside corner; literally a perfect pitch. Above belt-high, actually, and he still managed to turn on it. barrel it, and pull it out. That's not supposed to happen.

They have never supported the team all that well. Then when there was talk of a move years ago, the baseball people in the media trot out the ol' "It's such a good baseball rtown", and for evidence, they list good players that once played there.

I was listening to somebody on sports radio saying there's no way the Cubs are winning any 1 run games because the pitching has been so shaky. Pretty funny.

What is up with this guy Thames? Another one in a ongoing rout.

For all the kvetching about the starters' velocity, it really seems to have been a matter of dead arm. The starters barely pitched in ST, and this probably just pushed their dead arm periods back into the beginning of the regular season, whereas most other guys had already gotten it out of the way. Arrieta's velo was back up to near-normal his last start, and Hendricks the same tonight.
