Brett Kollmann has been touting Eddie Jackson for a few months now. He thinks that in any other draft, Jackson would be the top free safety in his class. He calls Jackson a slightly discounted version of Malik Hooker with elite return ability. He is a God awful tackler, but it doesn't matter much for a single high safety that is in charge of taking the ball away. He had Jackson going #12 to the Cleveland Browns in his mock draft. Kollmann's assessment of Eddie Jackson is at 18:54 of this video:

Excellent ball skills and a great return guy... No way he would have been there in the 4th if he was healthy last season.

No. Still needs too much refinement to be considered a 1st round talent.

Hmmmm, interesting comments. Potential ball hawk. I like it. Hope he can stay healthy.

That's great.

Can we agree that Pace is not allowed to draft another safety for the next two drafts

he looks like the real deal, just injury concerns...

He stays healthy and he is our starting safety in a few years... could give immediate production as kick returner.

Reminds me of the bulls in the 90's. They seemingly drafted a PF every damn year

If he can't tackle he won't be on the field. Safety is your last line of defense. Remember how bad Conte was at tackling?

O.K. This is our "Center Fielder" ......FS.......with benefits. (kick/punt returns) He can improve his tackling but this kid can play.....

Eddie Jackson says the #Bears like him as a returner and indicated that they will try him there.

Well, he is the 1st true free safety the Bears have drafted in forever.
