be interesting to see who sticks around here. They say Heyward is ready to come off the DL, but not ready to play. No denying Happ is ready to stick here, just has no place to stick to.

That is one scary OF. Yikes. Still they're facing Bronson Arroyo so this should be a win.

When Joe moved Happ to CF and Baez to RF in the blow out I was thinking that this was pending.

Seeing Candelerio in lineup over Almora makes me think this is an audition for him to a team ..
No other reason to keep a cold bat in lineup that going to go back to Iowa in a couple days.

I'm thinking that Joe is taking this opertunity while Heyward is mending to see if Happ can man CF every day.

1 reason is to this date Joe has not committed to Almora to his every day CF.

2. They could have played Almora at CF and had Happ at 2B. That has not happened either.

So what I'm thinking is Joe likes Baez at 2B and only plays Almora when he needs to. Them testing Happ in CF confirms this.

So on Candy: I really believe they are giving him one last shot before Heyward comes back. Lite tossing pitcher on a warm night game favors the hitters. If he stays cold he is going back to Iowa and may never get another shot.

Glad Lackey didn't waste time giving up a run...

I sure hope the bats are booming tonight so we can get a W

Nothing keeps a good first inning rolling like a pitcher in the 8 spot.

We been saying all year what a great way to start a game by having your leadoff hitter make an out..

That was the LFer ball...

When Lackey gives up homers and walks and all, I wish the position players would start screaming out loud at him..

I really hope they waive him this summer

You said he should take La Stella's spot as a guy who plays one day a week. His production at the plate only proves what an incredibly dumb idea that was.

Injuries forced Happ up. There was playing time out there. Right now Joe is forcing him out there on a wind blowing out game in CF over Almora. On top of that vs his home state team. Ya Joe is tossing him in high pressure and all he does is bash another one batting #4...ya.

No, that what you said out of me saying he should come up and be in the rotation with Baez and Zobrist..

I told you that with him being able to play 2B 3B and all 3 OF positions, he will get plenty of ABs..

Don't matter why/how he got up, he hitting and showing he belongs now..

I know once Jay and Heyward returns, their probably forced to return him..

I hope they can figure something out to keep him up cause he just may be that spark to ignite the offense again..

Right now I'm thinking if Maddon reluctant to play Almora for whatever reason, maybe they send Almora down and keep Happ up to play CF..
