Until they can get something going in the 4th and 5th spot of rotation , their going to basically be a .500 team...

Lester Hendricks and Arrieta need to be near perfect here on out for them to win 90 + games with what their getting from Lackey and the 5th spot...

Though I do have a little more confidence that Arrieta can turn it around over Lackey....

Lackey isn't a ton worse than I thought, I would have figured low 4's for FIP and it sits at 4.94, but the fact that there is no 5th starter and Arrieta hasn't been good is scary. Now that said Arrieta was better his last time out and seems to have figured out a new release point so it is promising. The bottom line though is that this team needs to get and stay 5-8 games over .500 to make it worthwhile to pick up another starter. The sad reality is that unless this team pour it on in the second half and picks up that starter they are, while probably still a playoff team, and easy out in the postseason.

John is a 50/50 guy right now. He had a great game in Col and then tosses this lemon. He is a #5 right now. Says a lot about Jake that he is matching him.

Hendricks is the staff ace right now. Lester is 1A. Then there is no middle of the rotation with 3 50/50 guys. Even when Anderson returns this doesn't change.

I almost was hoping that they were concidering Montgomery when they promoted Rosscup.

Here what gets me with Schwarber and most fans that get all excited and say he back and give him a pass for his terrible season..

This is Schwarber 4th HR this month..
Here how he did in games after he homered..

May 2nd 1-5 HR
0-4 combined next 2 games

May 5th 1-3 HR
3-25 after that game

May 16th 2-5 HR
2-13 after that

Today he 1-4 HR

Great that he hits a HR but I want to see him go on a little hitting streak and have a few 2 and or 3 hit games in there.

I'm not sure on him. Looking at his game logs Apr 15 he went 5.1 with 5 Hits. From that point he went into a tail spin.

His last game 6 IP and 5 hits. Better but there is nothing to tell me that he is locked in. If anything he is getting better at curbing the damage.
