Don't think that is a issue. If anything he needs to get the work in. His last game was the 17th. That was rust.

Don't see Eddie Butler having a future as a starter here in the short term. He's not awful I just don't see enough value to him.

Does this player belong starting everyday on a major league team?

Anyone else at this point in their career would be sent to minors in a heartbeat.

I think we have won 7 of our last 9. I think the majority should go down the minors to work on how to crush AAA pitching again

I take it one game at a time with him and see his body of work at the dead line. Right now he is 50/50 but his off day was not as bad as it should have been.

My opinion is they are not going to break up this team to get a arm rental and Candi doesn't hold much trade weight.

A scenario that could happen is they deal with SD. Get Hand for Candi and some add ons. Then stretch out Montgomery.

That is the best you will see to be honest. I don't see them making a eye opener until the off season.

Their winning now despite Schwarber..

Getting good pitching and guys like Zobrist and Rizzo are getting hot and Happ gave the offense a little jolt..

Seriously, it's getting tiresome seeing people kiss this guys ass..

Yes he had a inspirational 4 games in WS last November and a great postseason in 2015..

But in his 113 regular season MLB games and 465 P.A., .215 career BA, he has pretty much sucked..

I'm not writing the kid off, nor am I doubting he has what it takes to be a solid major league hitter..
I just think it's time to play guys that are actually hitting and can help this team win games now..

What would it hurt to send him to Iowa for a couple weeks, let him work on whatever he needs to work on.. find his swing and come back with some confidence in himself.

Theo and Maddon really cares about the kid, they would do this over sending him out there every day and press and lose confidence in himself if he continues to struggle.

If it meant Baez at 2B every day and Zobrist in LF every day it has some Merritt.

I do believe he needs a few days off to readjust. Right now he is getting the shift every day and for the most part it is beating him. But his strike outs are a whole other issue. I understand 35% SO's. Bryant had that his first year. But he was also putting up a strong BABIP. Kyle is struggling there with the shift.

I don't think is a mechanical issue going on. Right now he is getting beat.
