Boy, what happened to the Mets pitching?

Cubs have a chance to win 2 of 3...Lester and Montgomery start.
But
It all going to come down to the bats and scoring runs..
Think their going to need at least 5 in all 3 games to have a chance.
Lester probably gives them a good start

Harvey is one of the pitchers that I've been looking at as a trade target. He has had issues with the New York market and could be a change of scenery candidate. The cost most likely would not be too steep.

So thinking on those lines how much is Harvey worth right now? Hudson and Morrison IMO

I'm honestly not sure of his value at this point. There are going to be a glut of pitchers on the market this year which will lower his value, plus what he's done to it himself. Still if you're NY you want to move him without giving him away. His value may be greater with 1 year left of control in the winter as part of a larger deal than it will be at the deadline. I am pretty sure that Morrison and Hudson don't get it done. I think they would insist on a guy who was at least projectable to big league play. Would you trade Candelerio straight up? I might.

Why would the Cubs want Harvey? The Mets even suspended him at one point for violating team rules.

They are turning over 3/5 if Montgomery crumbles. Tossing 2 25ish prospects is chumpchange.

I probley would also. Candy has no future here and lacks a power bat that you want on the corners. Harvey has control for 2018 which bridges the gap to Clifton. So it would be a cheaper option than Grey.

The question is if removing him from that situation and getting him with Bosio makes a difference or not with him.

Lackey is such an asshole.

Gives up a his first homer of the night and follows it up with a head shaking/staring contest with the umpire 2 pitches later.

I'm sure it won't be long before he owns this record by himself..

Most leadoff HR allowed in a season, #Cubs history
(1876-present)
3 John Lackey 2017
3 Warren Hacker 1953
3 Al Spalding 1876

I just realized he's scheduled to start the game I've got tickets for in Miami.

I hope he gets blown up today. I was going 2-1 this series and this was the loss. Might as well make it a gain with Hendricks giving it a go on Thursday. Jake had a finger cut. So I'm thinking that was a 1 day thing. Lackey has a problem between his ears.

Arrieta has had his issues, Hendricks has been up and down. Everyone can say what they want but Lackey is the biggest problem in the rotation. 19hrs allowed and were not even halfway through the season.

Lackey does have problems between the ears. No one ever disputed that.
But anyone that thinks that he has anything near major league stuff with his arm is a blind homer. Lakey is done done.
Nothing more than batting practice stuff left in that arm.
