I don't think it would be, no. It's not just the actions of a GM that would be judged, but the actions of a GM under specific ownership. David Griffin created the biggest payroll in the history of the NBA. That wouldn't happen with Jerry or Michael as owner/chair.

I had that thought but he can be seen very much like Jerry Krause. He didn't build the Cavs through the draft to be be a contender, he had James decide to return and filled in around him with complimentary players, at times the ones Lebron wanted to get to 3 Finals and win one. The Bulls don't have that superduperstar to fill in with role players at the end of their careers. What would make anyone think Griffin has the ability to build a team through mid level draft picks with what the Bulls have now?
