It mite be the best debut ever from a Cubs pitcher and there have been some good ones.

You really think Maddon is going to throw Lester and Quintana back to back in the playoffs?

He could, it's Joe after all, but that's not what my comment was about. It was the belief that many Cub fans had that Q was basically a #3.

Excellent start but Don Cardwell came over from Philly and threw a no-hitter in his first game as a Cub.

Is there anywhere to watch entire Cubs games the next day online? I'd love to check out some of Quintana's pitching (more than a few seconds of highlights over at MLB). Thanks.

Yet those same fans call Lester a 1 when Quintana is more or less the same guy with a nearly identical stat line.

I little focus, a little pissed off it looked like. Better defense behind him, showing what he can do, he was hot coming in after a good final start with great stuff in his last game as a Sox.

Also better analytics and decisions from Maddon and staff almost surely,

I am excited to see what he can do for a non-trainwreck of a franchise.

He has been a top 10 lefty for a while. Clearly a #2 as your White Sox buddies have been telling you, and some over there are adament a #1 but I don't throw out "ACE" lightly and his year has not warranted that designation.

I should've stated, that I've ever seen. Been a Cubs fan since 1977. Don Cardwell came to the Cubs before that.

That doesn't make him a mid rotation starter...

I think we need to stop categorizing these starters by numbers..

They should simply be called either a TOR or BOR type starter ..

Some could be a high end of either or low end..

Quintana is a low end TOR type who can be a high end..

Lester a high end but is falling to a low end TOR type..

Arrieta is a low end TOR but he been falling lately, hopefully he picks it up again and maintains that status ..

Hendricks is at the tip of the high end BOR, hopefully he finishes the season strong and ends up in low end TOR type..

Lackey was at high end of BOR and has fallen to the low end of BOR..

It was on ABC yesterday so you might be able to find it somewhere with that. Not sure if On demand replays games..

Actually, I think we should stop calling these pitchers by name. From now on it's not Lester anymore...it's TOR1. Lackey is now BOR5. It will make things far simpler which apparently is a necessity for some.
