Rizzo back, only lefty in the lineup today, Happ and Zobrist switchy hitters though when they bring the righty in from the pen I guess.
. Carrot top and Grimm optioned to Iowa as expected.

You know, it might be a good idea to actually make the playoffs before worrying about that kind of shit. The lead they have is hardly overwhelming.

I am usually really surprised if a lefty leaves early, the other team stacks with rightys, and the manager replaces the pitcher with another lefty. I guess its some unwritten rule in regular season baseball between managers.

Personally, I always thought you allow a pitcher to establish one side of the plate if you dont bat lefties and righties against them.

Can't remember which manager said this but he was against stacking one side if the plate because it would give the pitcher the benefit of just working a particular side and getting in groove there .. he rather have him go back n forth by making sure there were 2 or 3 of say lefty vs lefty in line up

I can't speak of Corbin specifically, but looking at a pitcher's splits should tell you whether they dominate one side. No reason for mgr to assume. Data is readily available.

He was talking more specifically of pitching to one side of plate..

Like if a team stacked RHers against a lefty..
Such lefty would go through the lineup getting comfortable hitting that outside corner over having to go back n forth..

Terrible at bat from Rizzo. Let's bring Zobrist home!

Can see why its heavy RH against this guy...might have been Rizz's worst AB all season.

By the way my whole point of Heyward and Schwarber not playing was basically just if they make playoff (Happy die hard [emoji3]) and face AZ and Corbin or whoever with lefty going..
Do they sit? If not , why not get them AB against those guys to get them use to hitting off them

The way Corbin turned Rizzo into a pretzel, yeah...I'd sit Schwarber but play Heyward for D and hope it balances his 0 fer.

Damn walks....my absolute pet peeve in baseball. He's at 6 innings tops now, working his way toward 5. What is so damn hard about throwing a strike?

I'm no expert, but perhaps throwing some strikes might be the smart move.
