Not that i like Barth but was he really that bad last year? Seems like he only missed 4 or 5 with a couple of those being from 50+.

Just the Bear's history of kickers being their leading scorer and having a #2 pick QB to outscore. On a field known for its unpredictable winds. No pressure.

Maybe they figure the wind will blow his kicks in since he misses to the wrong side.

Yep, Soldier Field is a tough place to kick, all I'm saying is try him out. Who knows, he's worth a look and maybe a bigger bust than Jovanni Petrovabitch.

Interesting... Apparently Barth was on the Bucs when the drafted Aguayo then got cut. This could get interesting!

I watched him all through college and the kid as money. Consistent, hit > 50, hit the fields goals under pressure, kicked off through the end zone all the time. When they changed the rule fr the touchback to come out to the 25, he started kicking off higher and the ball coming down around the five. He was incredible. If he finds himsellf, the Bears ST willl be a lot better.

Kickers can let big contract money make them go crazy. Did he show up to Camp in a super car?

I could not believe that the Bucs burned a 2nd rounder on him but he was damn good at FSU. He just needs to clear his head and come here and compete. He has the talent so I understand why the Bears are kicking the tires.

He'll probably kick a 50 yarder to win the game in week 2.

The guy kicked at a 95% success rate as a redshirt freshman, got hyped during FSU's NatChamp season and has spiraled down hill since then. His success rate on FG's dropped to 90% then 80%, good for 34th in the country. Somehow TB ignored his decreasing production and drafted him in the 2nd round and last season his % dropped to 71% on FG's. Worth a few hundred thousand flyer I guess. Honestly, think I rather have Barth. He isn't great but neither is Aguyo, but Barth at least doesn't seem like a prick like Aguyo. I rather not have to root for that guy.
