Don't expect guard Dwyane Wade to be in Chicago for the entire 2017-18 NBA season. After Chicago traded away Jimmy Butler on draft night, it was rumored that veteran Dwyane Wade would not opt in to anther year of his contract.Instead, Wade did the opposite and he opted in for another year and a cool $23 Million for the upcoming season. But now that might be changing.According to ESPN Bulls beat writer Nick Friedell, the Bulls and Wade are expected to reach an agreement for a buyout in the near future. Here's what he writes:
Dwyane Wade isn't long for the organization's future and is expected to reach a buyout agreement at some point in the next few months.
It makes sense for both sides. The Bulls are looking to completely rebuild and began that with the Butler trade. Having Wade on the roster really does them no good outside of putting fans in seats. For Wade, he wont have a shot at another title here in Chicago as by the time the Bulls are ready to win again, he will be out of the league. Wade gets paid a buyout and will eventually land with a contender. The Bulls will continue their rebuild and hopefully land a stud in the upcoming NBA Draft.

Dwyane Wade Reportedly Expected to Reach Buyout with Bulls in 'Next Few Months'

Dwyane Wade might not see the end of his two-year deal with the Chicago Bulls after all.

According to Nick Friedell of ESPN.com, the 35-year-old "isn't long for the organization's future and is expected to reach a buyout agreement at some point in the next few months."

Wade joined the team before last season and is currently owed $23.8 million for the 2017-18 season.

The veteran had an opportunity to opt out of his contract this offseason, but he chose not to in June. However, he made that decision before Chicago traded Jimmy Butler to the Minnesota Timberwolves and allowed Rajon Rondo to walk in free agency, signaling an organizational rebuild.

Wade is now by far the most expensive player on the Bulls roster, as Robin Lopez is the only other one making more than $10 million next season, per Basketball Reference.

Despite shifting direction and plunging into a rebuild, the Bulls haven't given any indication they intend to agree to a buyout with Wade. In June, team vice president John Paxson said any agreement would have to be "advantageous" to the team, per K.C. Johnson of the Chicago Tribune. Head coach Fred Hoiberg added in July that he doesn't expect a buyout, per Vincent Goodwill of CSN Chicago.

If the two sides do eventually reach a buyout agreement, it could help the Bulls move forward while giving the 12-time All-Star a chance to join a contender this season.

Makes sense as there's no point in having him on a rebuilding team

The money wont be there yet. If he makes it halfway thru this season, then the second half number is 12 million, which would mean the bulls would have to pay him 6 to leave so someone will sign him for the 3 million balance of trade exemption. It makes them think they are not actually paying him 15-18 million, it makes them feel like they are only paying a small amount.

If somebody really wanted him, a 3 million buyout and a 20 million deal to go somewhere would be the case, but his number this year for retirement is 20 million I would think.

Dwyane Wade gave back approximately $8M of his $23.8M salary to reach buyout agreement with Bulls, league sources tell ESPN.

Welp, was hoping we'd mess with him a little bit longer.

Sounds like he will go to Cleveland. Can the league just contract to about 4 teams and be done with all this BS?

This isn't a rebuilding team at least not yet. They don't have any quality pieces to actually build with. Bulls should be guaranteed a top 3 pick next season.

That's rebuilding! Getting rid of Wade and Butler says it all.

Bulls save 8 million and hopefully some face for future prospective free agents. Tough when you gotta pay someone 15 million to leave, but considering the low return the knicks got for Carmelo, maybe you end up better for it.

They still better plan on building thru the draft though.

No starter-caliber player worth signing in FA is dumb enough to sign freely here at this point.
The kids that grew up idolizing Jordan are too old to slip in.
The best players FROM Chicagoland don't want to be a part of this city either because of weather or escaping violent pasts.
The other players FROM Chicagoland that *might* be homesick have bad knees.
The FO trades away and fires everyone who actually loves the city and tolerates the organization.

So yeah, not many choices but to build through the draft. :(

Tim Floyd is going to be a name we hear a lot of this season and next. LOL
