I've had it for 18+ years, I am pretty sure I know how this disease works.

I started to read this thread for good decent menu planning to make me and my roommates meal strategies and grocery shopping lists align with our mutual tastes and desires for healthy eating and overall streamlined food processing and consumption for our household, but see the thread changed and now still am finding it useful as to me personally perhaps, as the new guy my mother is currently dating after splitting with her last boyfriend is starting to develop diabetes and while I'm sorry to hear that you suffer from it maybe your experience and knowledge in managing this disease since you came down with it can help others. The guy's name is Terry and he seems nice but needs to lose weight and probably not drink so much, but he thinks he just needs to stop eating sugar, but that can't possibly be enough if he doesn't want it to become full-blown, right? He's cut out eating sugar cereals at breakfast and before bed, and he switched to diet sodas and energy drinks, but I split a kit Kat bar with him the other day and he got really swollen feet and got really itchy, so obviously needs to take insulin more seriously. What did you do when this all started?
