They fired their GM for improper IFA signings and possibly other domestic shenanagins. No firm details yet but the red sox got hit hard for what appears to be less than what the GM for ATL did.
Ronald Acuna was also a IFA he signed though no word on whether he might also be declared a free agent. He's the #5 prospect for mlb.com. Maitan is #38. If either become FA it would be HUGE. I believe they would still be on IFA rules given age/years of experience but given this is happening today it might not happen until around the start of next year's IFA period which would be big given the cubs would be out of the penalty box again.
