Cubs scored 8 runs in 4 games against the Nats, and won two. Pitching was way better than you give credit for.
You trust this bullpen ill give you kudos..

Bryant Rizzo Heyward Baez Combined 2 for 27 now in postseason

Im not saying theyll get swept but ill be very surprise if cubs can win 4 of next 6 now against the Dodgers who are much much better then the Nats..

Three run lead, with 4 outs to go, and another manager will overuse his closer.

They should have stuck with others, but these guys play to not get criticized instead of doing the smart thing.

Apart from the last game with the Nats and (even there we scored some weird runs) the bats are doing worse than the arms

No runner reached base after the almora hr

The team was dead despite a 2-0 lead and some possible juice.

We threw

A guy who's wife was in the hospital and arrived from all 16 hours earlier
A guy who wasn't in the roster in nlds
A guy who didn't pitch in the nlds

No clue who we would have used in 7-8-9 if we had a close lead late as we were toast in the pen and not good anyway.

Was hoping for lackey to start and q in game 2 to get everyone fresh as now only one who's a ? Tomm is our starting pitcher.

Series was always going to start game 2.....theyre still missing seager but our pen still sucks.....need to hit to win

Agree. Almora has been our best player lately. He should be a regular. Let him hit against right handers as well.

Don’t think I’m going to be able to watch any of this series after watching virtually every game this season. I’m in Sweden for business and the games start at like 2am.

Watching Puig in the highlights was pretty annoying. Go Cubs.

Hell
Joe is the only manager I know who gets his best defenders OUT of close games late.

Did it Thursday, too.

It worked....so I guess I am the dummy. But who do we have in the OF right now, Schwarber, Jay, Zobrist? Holy hell.

Hitting 17 is always the wrong play no matter what the results.

Have to give a lane to the runner. Not hard to understand

It was just the leg. I agreed with Girardi on the final play from Correa yesterday. Pop up slide into Didi which did not allow the throw to the plate. Where is that rule enforced other than double plays?

It was enforced last night. As a long time catcher that understands controlling plate access, it was the correct call

You did not answer the question.

I understand what the rule says. I am asking them to extrapolate that and tell me where should the catcher stand on that particular play. They are telling him where he can not stand, but from a simple, practical standpoint, where should a catcher position himself waiting on that throw? Toward LF? That leaves him in the way. Toward RF? Then he has to lunge to make a tag.

Bottom line is, while the intent may make sense, the rule itself is impractical. Much like college football's targeting rule.
