Lol, no, they wouldn't look the same.

Your proof?
I could take a picture of my Tarot reading on it.

Bears staff would be just as afraid of playing Watson because that's who they are. First interception and he'd be handing off forever.

Watson is going to be racking up the picks as soon as he faces a good defense again.

what, like the chiefs?

the chiefs aren't a particularly good pass defense this year, no (14th in DVOA against the pass, 24th in passing yards, 25th in passing yards per attempt). and, let's be honest, he racked up most of his numbers in that game with the game well out of reach.

watson has played well the past 3 or 4 weeks, but his accuracy is still the obvious issue it was all along and he has gotten lucky so far with some dangerous throws.

If we had got Watson the same trolls for the most part and a different set of Chicken Littles would be calling him a bust.

This is going to upset the snowflakes, but here we go:

So why not Watson? The Bears opted for a white player with barely any experience who hasn't won anything. The org is historically conservative and owned by a rich, 94-year-old white woman. The "face of the franchise" has rarely been a black or brown one. Black players make up 70% of the league, yet the Bears have taken quite a few non-black players with high draft picks in recent years: Trubisky, Shaheen, Whitehair, Grasu, Long, McClellin, Hardin, Carimi, Paea, Conte.

Does the Bears brass prefer white players?

Prove me wrong with your outrage and accusations of "playing the race card". Let's hear it.

garbage time or not, slipping out of a strip by swapping the ball into your other hand without breaking stride, and then throwing a 48 yard touchdown pass is damn impressive. If Trubisky was doing that, I guarantee Chicago would be shitting it's collective pants

Imagine being Cleveland, they passed on Wentz, Trubisky, and Watson. Or how about the Chiefs they passed on Watson as well which is never mentioned. Watson was the 3rd qb taken, to me that is the interesting move.

My proof is that Watson was more ready to play in the NFL than Trubisky. He'd look worse on the Bears, but better than Trubs has looked so far. Trubs would look better on the Texans, but worse than how Watson has looked. It's not a knock on Trubs. I like what I've seen from him, but Watson is more than a beneficiary of the Texans coaches/cast.

Considering he just accomplished something no other rookie QB has ever accomplished, I'd say it's a pretty sound estimation that Trubs wouldn't be doing what Watson is doing if they switched places. Doesn't mean Trubs sucks. Doesn't mean Watson will be the better QB. Just means Watson was more ready to play at this level. I don't understand why people seem to want to fight that very obvious fact.

So it's just your opinion. Don't confuse it with fact.

Put Watson on the Bears and he's the rookie who's going to sit a year and goes through camp with the 3s & 4s. When he does start he's the one without WRs getting open. Just as likely is he's already injured from running or taking sacks because of it if the coaches actually get infatuated with his arm. But they probably wouldn't, he'd be handing the ball off.

Trubisky in Houston gets trained with the 1s & 2s from the start so he's more ready to play with them. He has WRs who can get open that he can throw more risks to.

But most interesting is Bears fans in Houston would be complaining about 5 interceptions and 3 fumbles from a rookie acting like they know all from a small number of games.

Yet he's completed over 60pct of his passes on the year. What's interesting is Bear fans are spouting accuracy yet Mitch is sitting pretty with a 48.8 pct pass completion.

How did Watson do on those first 3 games he played?

How many of those QBs were intended to play and weren't simply last resorts the team didn't draft?

You're not strong in the deductive reasoning department I see. The majority of NFL draft prospects are black (with me so far?). That means drafting a non-black player would be a somewhat of an anomaly. The Bears have selected quite a few non-black players with high picks. In addition, several of those picks were positions where non-black players are an extreme minority, S, DE, DT.

Floyd, White, and Fuller make up the majority. Drafting them is not a surprise. I never said the Bears don't draft black players. I stated they draft more non-black players than a team would based on the pool they're picking from (statistically-speaking).

I don't buy that ownership doesn't have a say in personnel decisions. It's not GMs who are blackballing Colin K.

Also, thanks for not disappointing.

First you said the Bears don't want a black person being the face of the franchise. After I discredited that you say you have some stat that proves the Bears leans more towards white players.
70 percent of the players in the NFL are black so go ahead and show me this stats you are talking about where the Bears draft so much higher than 30 percent white players that would leads you to believe that ownership is racist.

Watson was always a dilemma in this draft. A GM nightmare. You can't take him, you can't pass on him. If you pass and he is Michael Jordan.....what have you done?

What is worse, is he is more pro ready than Trubisky, so not only did he turn out to be Michael Jordan but is doing it sooner, throwing his first 5 TD game, etc.

Still...everyone put the pipe down with me. Trubs gets 3 years before we can say. Judge Cousins vs Griffin after 1 year and what do you believe? What about after 3?

Can't judge until they are both developed, and we see if Watson can even stay durable through his progression and learning curve.

GMs are not blackballing Kapernick.

He got beat out by Gabbert last year in a season long competition. They changed the rule that made him effective, the read option. Making him not as effective. He had multiple surgeries. The perception was he lost lots of muscle mass due to surgeries or lack of desire anymore. He went from Josh Gordon to imma just do hot yoga and eat leaves like Aaron Rodgers, and be a running QB like Griffin. OK.

Now he is a third string QB in need of a specialized system (with the only coach who ever proved he could use him in college, harbaugh), and will immediately piss off 30% of your fan base (whether they are right or not, the customer is ever right, you ever here that one?)

So...for a third string specialist QB you can't use, you are going to immediately receive death threats and hate mail and piss off 30% of your clients....

it doesn't take collusion to pass on this guy. 32 teams can think for themselves.

Lol, Watson is Michael Jordan. Yet to beat a team with a winning record. Just another day on the Bears Meatball Board.

I do think Trubs will end up being pretty good for us - just not Watson good. It pisses me off every time I see a Texans game and realize what we could have had. Bear fans have to take their blinders off and stop giving Pace a pass. He missed on Watson who is clearly the superior QB. He missed on Vic Beasley. He brought in a bunch of a scrub free agents and paid the human neck QB a ton of money to sit on the bench. And the 1 pro bowler he drafted (Howard) won't be going back to the pro bowl any time soon.

We need to clean house and that includes getting rid of PACE!
