Keep an eye on this kid. While all the hype has been on Lonzo Ball and his loud mouth father the Bulls look to have landed a Rookie of the Year contender.

http://bleacherreport.com/articles/...ane-wade-discuss-lauri-markkanens-performance

He's a "very confident kid," James said, per K.C. Johnson of the Chicago Tribune. "Can shoot the heck out of the ball. He's going to continue to get better. The best thing about it he's getting an opportunity. So you can make mistakes and learn on the fly. But he's going to play a lot because he's learning. He's a good player."

Markkanen finished with 19 points and eight rebounds, knocking down five threes in the first half. He's been in double digits in all three of Chicago's first three games.

"You can see if a guy knows how to play basketball when you first see him. In the preseason, we all said he can play," Dwyane Wade said.

We should trade him for draft picks right away.

Took GarPax like 4-5 tries to get their tall white guy that can shoot but they've finally done it.

Markkanen is looking pretty good and hes only 20.

He has a legit shot at it.

Tatum has also looked good. Ball's triple double numbers and publicity will unfortunately rule the day, but he also looks like a major injury risk.

Lauri might go 4th in a re-draft already.

2018-19 roster

Dunn-Lavine(if he signs)-#1 or #2 pick-Lauri-Free agent

Portis-Valentine-draft pick-draft pick-Felicio-Grant-FA PG

Is a start of something. Important to re-sign Lavine and get a top 2 pick for this re-build. Most important part of it. If we got a perennial all-star with the tank, an elite stretch 4, a defensive PG, and Lavine developed into an offensive shooting guard.....its not hard to build off of that.

IF Ball's old man keeps running his stupid mouth, he might kill his kid's chances at ROY. Man that guy is an asshole:(

I think Ball shooting 31% from the field right now is really doing the trick.

My boy Tatum is looking quite good, on the other hand.

It's like, 3 weeks into the season. There is a lot of basketball left to play.

Really, really hated the pick originally (I wnted Monk there), but so far Lauri has been a pleasant surprise.

Sorry, but Ben Simmons will win rookie of the year unless he gets injured.

Rookie/Schmookie OY! I love the kid and good for the Bulls getting their guy. He's going to be a real matchup problem when the Bulls add some more talent. And to steal a video from 'Derkach77's Official Bulls Highlights Thread', check out a rookie record for the Bulls:

If he keeps building his game, especially low post, and becomes more aggressive which I expect, he has a real shot. He is a player. He just needs to stay aggressive. Own it.

Ben Simmons wins it with ease but Markannen looks like a real solid player.
