Belichick isn't the only defensive coordinator turned head coach to run a successful offense regardless of offensive coordinator just look at Pete Carroll, Mike Tomlin,Bill Cowher, and John Harbaugh (Special Teams Coach) that led his team to a Superbowl.

Keep believing that NFL coaches only have a small limited understanding of one small aspect of an NFL team.

Marc Trestman led the Browns to the playoffs in the 1980's as an offensive coordinator. That alone is enough to call him smart but he should never be a head coach in the NFL again.

You said run a good offense regardless of the coordinator?

John Harbaughs offense has been shit and Cowher didn’t always have a good offense but didnhave hall of famers on it. Tonkin has had two incredible and previously well established coordinators in a row.

It's almost impossible to be a competitive team for years and years just like companies they have ups and down.

Players leave and players have bad years and a lot of other things go into running a team.
