The game has gone away from dunking in general to foul and flopping. So players don't develop their dunk games like they used to, because that isn't where the money is at in this league.
Dunkers get hurt and need to be tough. Playing in the paint still has brush and bang acceptance in the league.
However, three point shooters just step in or out of a jump shot and if someone contests the shot similar to how shots in the paint are contested, that's a foul all-night long.
So why the hell are we, fans of the game, fans of dunks, going to actually see better dunk contests? We're not. Might as well introduce trampolines.
