We are terribly saddened with the news of the passing of Bob Klem. Bob was a close friend to the #IceHogs organization and a hero in the fight against pancreatic cancer. We were honored to host @skatewithbob each November here in Rockford. You will be missed.

Most IHN people should remember Klem even going back to the BH official MB.

RIP Klem

Horrible news. RIP Klemmer. He did a lot to raise money for fighting cancer.

Thanks for sharing this Spunky, I've been out of the loop.

So I guess he was in goal and collapsed, taken to the locker room and efforts to revive him failed.

He died doing what he loved.

Yeah. I also heard that's the way he wanted to go.

Many of us loved and respected Klem on and off the ice.
His efforts to create an organization to raise money for those fighting cancer showed how selfless Klem was. I had the chance to cover 4 of his events in Rockford, which raised tens of thousands of dollars to fight pancreatic cancer.

I'm humbled and honored that I had the chance to know him and consider him a friend.

RIP Klemmer.

Wow... I hadn't been on facebook in a while and this is the first I'm seeing of this. Truely saddened, he was one of the nicest guys you'll meet and always had a smile to give to others. He's responsible for my first and only time playing ice hockey.

sad, sad news. Wish I could have played in one of those IHN games. I bonded with him over our Kansas City background.
