Dominik Kahun is apparently close to changing to the National Hockey League. As the sports image and the Austrian sports newspaper report in their respective print editions, the German national player should have signed an entry-level contract with the Chicago Blackhawks.

In Chicago, he should therefore get a two-year contract, which is to bring him per season 760,000 euros. Overall, he is said to have attracted the interest of ten teams.

The 22-year-old convinced - like many other internationals - at the Olympic Winter Games in Pyeongchang and was involved with two goals and three assists in the silver success in South Korea. In addition, he attracted the interest of some NHL scouts with his style of play.

Kahun was trained in the Mannheim junior and was top scorer of the German junior league in the season 2011/12, in which he won the German championship with the Jungadlern Mannheim. From 2012 to 2014 Kahun already played in North America, when he ran aground for the Sudbury Wolves in the Junior League OHL. He then moved to the EHC Red Bull Munich, with whom he won the German Championship in each of the past two years and also won the main round of the German Ice Hockey League in the current season.

German Panarin?

Could lighting strike twice. Just think if he does, we could always trade him for someone to get Toews going.

Like the Dollar Bill era-Blackhawk days regarding Alexei Zhamanov, the Or-gan-I-zation should market Kahun as Dirk Nowiktski on skates.
