I will never understand how literally anyone would fall for this troll.

If he bugs you don't respond. If he doesn't receive attention he will go away.

An article on Espn by Bill Barnwell thought he totally misplayed the Fuller Contract and cost the Bears millions by not using the Franchise tag when he had the chance. It said that packers set it up for fuller to get 20 million in the first year and 29 million in the second year. If he would have used the franchise tag the bears cost would only be 15 million and would give them another year to see if they wanted to keep him long term. They gave him a grade of D for the handling of fullers contract.

LOL what in the actual fuck? Are you even sure you're quoting this properly? That makes zero fucking sense.

Profile of more of Pace's bad decisions. No wonder why Pace is an idiot.

Listen DickLicker, I'm not buying it!

However, I will admit that I think the new Pack GM got us a little bit on this one. Basically, he gave the Bears two options ... take on an unfriendly cap contract, or let the Pack steal a good player from us.

As much as I kind of wish we let the Pack have Fuller, and then watch them get further into cap hell, I think it would really be worse if the Bears allow the Pack to steal one of our homegrown players.

I think there are two things to take from this:

1) The Pack's new GM has made his mind up to attack the Bears in multiple ways. First, they tried to steal Vic, now they fuck with our cap space.

2) I think Pace and the Bears will think twice about using the Transition tag again.

I'm confused on how not using the franchise tag cost us millions? Seems to me what Pace did worked out perfectly

referring to the link above it will tell you what we paid for a one year wonder who may not even want to be here. Fuller is getting paid like the 5 best CB in the NFL and is effectively guaranteed 29 million. Take away the 15 million that he would have cost us with the franchise tag, and that would have effectively saved 14 million in guarnteed money alone. So yes, pace has yet again pace has screwed up by letting our division rival setting the market for our own FA.

Pace was hamstrung by a lame-duck coach last year. Everyone knew Fox was a dead man walking and no decent free agents wanted to sign here. Add to that that we were signing Mike Glennon to start football games for us with no one expecting us to draft a QB high like we did let alone have him show some promise. He had to overpay to get bodies in the door. That's why they did such short-term deals with most of them or gave themselves good outs with guys like Glennon, Wheaton, Wright, Cooper, Demps, etc.

Fast forward a year and the Bears are viewed as an up and coming team with a lot of good stuff going for them. As such, you're able to sign top tier free agents like Robinson and keep guys who performed well like Amukamara/Fuller. That's due to Pace making the right coaching hire (so far anyway) and having had the balls to get his QB last year.

Not perfect by any means but expecting perfection is setting yourself up for failure.

Did you even look at the link? Explain my stupidity, by showing me where I am wrong. I ve noticed your very good at making one line posts about the stupidity of a poster but won't say what you find stupid. Is it because you don't know?

I happen to think Fuller is starting to peak. It took time for him to adjust in the league after a Sophomore slump. He's back. I would lock him up to a 4-year contract now rather than let him walk. If he performs, then it's WORTH THE MONEY. Obviously if he doesn't it isn't. But you have to take that chance in my opinion.

Slapping a franchise tag on a player comes with a whole set of other problems by the way ... Jeffery ring a bell? At some point, you need to establish STABILITY at positions and show players you believe in them.

lol, you do understand what schefter is saying by effectively guaranteed 29 mill? because espn didnt know the contract details they assumed it was 29 mill gtd and then went on to say fuller is getting paid more than norman, peterson, rhodes etc...its espn what do you expect...

fuller's actual contract is 4yr 56 mill with 18 gtd.

pace hasnt screwed nothing, fuller got a good deal with a relatively low guarantee

He is signed to a 4 year deal.
