So, now that we've got Fuller back for at least the next 4 years, what's the Bears' current cap situation? Anyone?

Never mind. Looks like they have around $40M wiggle room still. Unless I'm reading it wrong.

It doesn't matter. The sites need to update all of the signings to give an accurate number. Whether its overthecap or spotrac.

If I had to guess, they end up with $20M - $30M heading into the draft. That's assuming they don't give an extension to Goldman or Amos.

Who would they be signing to eat up 15 million in cap space?

Good question. Are there any FAs left worth targeting?

I guess that begs another question. Are you looking for stop gap signings like a NaVorro Bowman or trying to spend big bucks on someone like Donkey Kong Ndamukong Suh?

Adrian Amos will be going into his contract year.

Extend: Adrian Amos, Eddie Goldman, and maybe even Danny Trevathan.

New Contracts: Bryce Callahan, Cameron Meredith, and Dontrelle Inman.

What is the current roster number of players under contract? Before FA Bears has the lowest roster in the NFL.

Shit... I don't know. I just want to fast forward to September and start watching the show again.

As much as I love Tre as a player and leader he shouldn't be getting another contract from the Bears. He is under team control for two more seasons but if we still have to re-sign him by then...we probably have bigger problems.

You're probably right about Goldman and Amos though. At least I would personally like to see them get extended now before their contracts become even more inflated.

They currently have somewhere around 25-27 in cap space available unless the APY numbers for Lynch, Amukamara, and a few others were under-reported -- which would push it into the low-mid 30s.

Jewels to get a case of Squirt

If you look at the bottom of the list of the list of players on your link, there are five signed players - Gabriel, Timu, Acho, Sowell, Bray - who aren't accounted for because they don't have contract details yet. I'd guess those guys are probably going to count for about $10m on this year's cap.

Cutler could probably cost that much.

Goldman should get extended, and he would like to before the year starts to protect against injury. However, I think they can wait on Amos. He played well last year, better than expected, and has some website's stats to back it up... but that is only one year of good production. We can afford to wait it out and pay the market price when his contract expires.

Bears probably are going to want to roll a little cap over due to the raises in year two for Fuller (+7 million from 2018 to 2010), Robinson (+3 million), and Burton (+3 million). Only real option for getting cap any sort of significant space back is to cut Deon Sims (+6 million) or maybe Chase Daniel (+5 million). You have other options (Long is +5.5 million, Leno is +6.2 million) but any savings there would likely just have to be spent on a new replacement.
