Statistically speaking if you win 50% of your road games and 60% of your home games you're a 90 win team. And statistically speaking teams do usually play better at home. Obviously you'd like to see them win vs weaker teams like this but baseball is weird like that. You'll split with a cellar dweller and then sweep the best team in baseball. It's that randomness that makes the game fun for me anyways because you rarely have any idea what will actually happen. So much statistical noise in every game that totally changes win/loss and seasons in general.

I know wasn't telling you not to complain or anything. I was just saying. Think it's often easy to get caught up in the wins and losses and not look at the bigger picture with baseball. Its a weird weird game where succeeding 30% of the time as a hitter makes you one of the best in the league and where if you're below 25% you're barely hanging on to a roster spot. The variance in the game is super strange on those kind of margins.

I don't believe I've ever seen a team that always looks so hopeless against a pitcher they haven't seen.

Chatwood's stuff is by far the worst we've seen from Cubs starters in the 5 games so far but with 1 run through 5 he's got the best results. Baseball is a funny game.

Yeah Chatwood is pitching worse than what the score is suggesting

For real though, I'm not gonna sit here after 5 games and say Happ needs to be benched but they really need to figure something else out for lead off if he's not going to hit. Problem is the only other two logical options are Zobrist and Almora which if you're playing daily is meaning one and or both of Happ and Baez are sitting. And of all the people, Schwarber save for one game vs a LHP is basically the only cub hitting besides Bryant and Russell. Suppose you could try Schwarber there again... not confident in that though.

Watching Heyward and Baez whiff back-to-back is just rough to watch, I am so through with Javy Soriano.

Chili Davis should be fired before this game ends.
