Which veteran UFAs do you target to develop this young team?

The Bulls are likely going to add two more young players for 2018-19.

Who do you try and sign that can come into this team, play a role in helping the coaches, play a role working with players. Someone that is possibly done chasing rings, but has shown they are a winner and improve chemistry.

Just for reference, here's one of many FA lists.

Mbah a Moute would be my personal #1, especially with how this team is developing. Doubt he would sign here.
Vince Carter is another guy that might be trying to break the Hickey record if his body will let him. His role on a young team at this stage would be welcome for sure.
I'd prefer to avoid Richard Jefferson, although maybe that's not being fair at this stage of his career.

Carter, Joe Johnson, David West, Trevor Ariza (whom I've always loved, but he'll be expensive), JJ (see previous comment), and Belinelli.

We actually have a great guy on the roster already in Robin Lopez, but his contract is gold come next trade deadline.

Carter said he's coming back for 1 more year. As far as a veteran to teach, I wouldn't mind him.

And my second choice...

Derrick Rose

Lopez is awesome. Great guy all-around and has a damn cool dog too.

I love RoLo. Good insights, sees the best in people, does whatever he's asked to do, helps when he can.

But he's not a winner in the sense that he's going to mentor players to take another step. In fairness a similar thing can be said about Mbah a Moute. He's more a glue guy. Other than that, agreed with all things said about him and others.

David West could be an Antonio Davis type figure for us.

Goon/Mentor for our young bigs.

I like all of the guys mentioned thus far, only problem is I see them all wanting to stay on/go to contenders. Exception to that would likely be Vince, he doesn't seem to care about winning a title. Him mentoring Lavine is an interesting thought.

It would be interesting to see if Vince would go back to Toronto for the one year.

I agree. They didn't really part on the best terms, but I think more than enough time has passed where he could go back and be welcomed with open arms. As he was the guy who kept basketball in Canada, he really should retire a Raptor...or at least it would be nice.

Pretty sure some team is going to offer Lavine a Jimmy Butler type deal of 5/95 to get him, so its gonna take alot to keep him before eyeing ufa's.

Technically true, Bulls will likely match whatever ridiculous offer Lavine gets to keep him, assuming they are serious about viewing him as part of the future core. However, the vets in this discussion are all of the minimum salary variety, so Lavine's contract doesn't factor in.

The Bulls aren't in the market for any special FAs. Really, it's limited to mentors and anyone willing to give a discount for whatever reason.
