In spite of that K, on a pitch that broke away, I like seeing Javy lay off pitches he used to chase. Laid off 0-2 and 1-2 pitches. He's different. I like it !!

Lol.. a couple bad years like it no big deal..

I dont think anyone creamed their pants but yea it was exciting to see the cubs get a guy that was just 26 YO, a GG, and just come off 2 pretty good years in Avg and OBP..
He was supposed to be the no.2 hitter getting on base behind Fowler and ahead of the RBI guys..

Instead for the last 2 years they got a guy who dropped down to 8th in order and had a .306 and .326 OBP..
So yea it been disappointing with him so far..

He off to a pretty good start this year with a .360 OBP , before we annoint him an MVP let just hope he can maintain where he at ..

As far as next year and beyond..
It all about hoping to get Harper

Nothing against Heyward personally but as a fan , who would you prefer playing RF for the next 5 years, Heyward or Harper?

I would love to have Harper, but unlike most, I don't assume he's going to be a Cub.

I'd love it if he is, but it's not a foregone conclusion.

Im not assuming it either..

Just was saying why fans would be ok with Heyward leaving..
And
IF the cubs seriously want Harper then 1 or 2 things will have to happen with Heyward..
Hope he opts out or theyll trade him and most likely eat salary

Otherwise getting Harper will be very unlikely

Addy, let's get going offensively.

You're better than this.

Yesterday, when they scored 10, I joked that they scored so many that Wednesday they'd have no offense.

Sadly, that is turning out to be the case.

Lester's pitching well in spite of the two HR's. Let's get some runs!

I could live with a game tying bomb right here.

The pattern of scoring double digits and then 0 or 1 is troublesome.

Perfect example was 8th inning of a two run game, not getting that man in from 3rd. Make the opponent work every inning. Play some “smallball”. We have power, but we also should be able to manufacture runs.

Oh, well. Beat the Brewers!

Easy? They're 3-5 in games that were supposedly going to be easy. (Miami, Cincy and Pitt)
