So I was reading an article about Allen Robinson and he said "You don't get many chances to play in a city like this. There's nothing really like it. There's only a few (sports) cities in America like this, and I'm fortunate to be playing in one."

I agree obviously that Chicago is one of the best sports cities in America. My question is what other cities compare?

My list:

New York
Boston
Pittsburgh (maybe)
Philly (maybe)

That's it. There's other cities that are really into one team.... Dallas for instance. But as far as a great sports towns across the board? The only three "locks" IMO are Chicago, Boston and New York.

Thoughts?

(and yes I know this is not really Bears related, but this place sucks at this time of year so why not)

Actually, Chicago fans are very knowledgeable as far as team history and game situations go. That goes for all sports.

You can make the argument that Chicago has a lot of delusional homers though. Vegas loves how they irrationally bet on their team to win games they shouldn't.

Boston's gotta be #1 considering the amount of championships they have in the past two decades.

That has nothing to do with what he's talking about. Boston, NY, Pitt, Chicago. I'd suggest Cleveland. Those are some dedicated fans man.

Probably have to throw L.A. into that mix as well.

You mean as the worst sports town??

Guess it depends on your criteria. OP didn't really lay that out, but I figured he just meant championships. If you're basing it on fans, then that's a different story and just subjective to your own opinion.

The Bay area is easily near the top. Golden State Warriors, 49ers, SF Giants, Raiders. Die hard fans everywhere.

I think you have to put Dallas in the mix. Not top three but maybe 6-10 range.

Dallas is a shitty sports town. The Cowboys play in Arlington and the Cowboys fan base is all of North Texas, East Texas, West Texas...mierda..pretty much all except the Houston area... Dallas fans are usually lukewarm towards everything else...you were just guessing.
